    Day 1: CHANDIGARH - THANEDAR (2350 M) 195 kms / 6 hrs

    Reach Chandigarh Airport / Railway Station by noon. Drive via Shimla & Narkanda to reach the apple orchard draped mountainside of Thanedar. Evening at leisure besides a bonfire in the Banjara Orchard Retreat.

    Day 2: THANEDAR - Sarahan - SANGLA (2700 M / 8860 ft) 156 kms / 6 hrs

    Post breakfast depart for Sangla Valley, Kinnaur, En route you could take a detour (about 2 hrs totally) to visit the ancient Bhimakali Temple in Sarahan; set against the backdrop of the mighty Shrikand Mahadev Peak. Reach the Banjara Camp & Retreat in Sangla Valley by evening and enjoy the rest of it by a bonfire. Overnight stay in the Banjara Retreat.

    Day 3: SANGLA – driving excursion to Chitkul & Nagasthi

    Do an exciting drive to Chitkul – the last Indian village. A snow walk exploring the village and a snow hike to the border outpost of Nagasthi would be really nice; this will also give you an opportunity to get better acclimatized for the Spiti experience. Evening by a bonfire. Overnight at the Banjara Retreat.

    Day 4: SANGLA – TABO (3280 M / 10, 760 ft) 175 km / 7 – 8 hrs

    Check out after breakfast and start the drive to Spiti. We backtrack past Sangla town to join the Old Hindustan Tibet Road at Karcham and then as we ascend to Upper Kinnaur you will see the tree line disappear while the terrain transforms into a classic Cold Desert landscape. We will stop a while at Nako to see the lake in all its frozen glory and then carry on to enter Spiti. Shortly after, we reach our destination for the night, Tabo. Stay the night in a homestay.

    TABO - Dhankar - KAZA (3800 M / 12,470 ft) 65 km / 3 – 4 hrs

    Morning visit to the over 1000 yr old monastery! Later carry on the drive through the dreamlike winter landscape, along the Spiti River. Near Sichling, we take a detour to see the impossibly located Dhankar Gompa and enjoy panoramic views of the snow clad valley. Continue along the river to reach Kaza and spend the rest of the day at leisure – stroll around in the town, talk to the locals, do justice to the photo ops everywhere around you. Stay the night in a homestay.

    Day 6: KAZA

    Today we explore the high altitude villages of Kibber, Gete and Langza: the picture postcard like setting of these hamlets on a blanket of snow and the opportunity to see how the locals cope with life in winters at over 14,000 ft, are experiences you will cherish for a lifetime. We will also visit the majestically poised Ki Monastery. Overnight in a homestay.

    KAZA – KALPA (2950 M) 225 km / 9 hrs

    Day 7: KAZA – KALPA (2950 M) 225 km / 9 hrs

    Bid adieu to your homestay hosts and head back to Kinnaur. You reach Kalpa where you can enjoy soul-stirring views of the Kinner Kailash Massif, especially at sunset & during sunrise the following morning. Overnight stay in The Grand Shambala.

    KALPA – THANEDAR 152 km / 5 – 6 hrs

    Day 8: KALPA – THANEDAR 152 km / 5 – 6 hrs

    Drive back to Thanedar. Time permitting you could hike down to St. Mary's church or do a short drive to Tani Jubbar Lake. Night stay in the Banjara Orchard Retreat.

    Leave after breakfast and get dropped at Chandigarh Airport for a late afternoon / evening return flight.
